  1. Daddy

Many of us have experienced abuse in childhood. Whether it be family or friends, the damage caused is significant. When you are abused as a child, your brain develops differently. The lessons you learn are all flawed.
Navigating in the world becomes challenging, as you feel different from most people, and as you age, you see that the way you have learned to cope, and hide, and bottle up all that shame, is killing your spirit.
We must speak out about what has happened to us. We must validate each other. There is great strength and healing in telling your story. Healing for you, and the others who are not strong enough to speak out.
Forgiveness may be hard, but understand that in the end, Forgiveness heals the Forgiver.
Yes, the abusers must be called to justice...and GOD will judge everyone according to their whole truth.
But do this for YOU...Forgive not only the ones who hurt you, but yourself, for all the flawed understanding that hurt you as you live, you did you best to love.
You only know what you know....hide no more, learn what you have lost...pray to God for his help and understanding.
With love,
Jacqueline

You'd lock me in the closet,
But I'd wake with the dawn.
I smell the breakfast coffee,
I hear the TV on.

You took away my innocence
When you caressed my life
My head's all twisted crazy,
I may never be a wife.

Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
But still I love you, so oh oh

Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me,
But that was such a long, long. time ago

And I worked in that diner,
I watched the people eat and pay.
They didn't see the pain behind my smile,
Or all the pain I felt.

It took me 40 years
To go back to the place where I began,
You left me age 17,
And now you're not here, holding my hand.

Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
But still I love you, so oh oh

Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me,
But that was such a long time ago

I am just a little broken,
But love has taught me, that won't last.
I give all me pain away,
I've told my story, I'm free at last.

Daddy, Oh Daddy

Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
But still I love you, so oh oh

Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me
Daddy, you hurt me,
But I forgive you now like Jesus did.
